Kelly Tarlton’s SEA LIFE Aquarium is only a 10 minute drive or six kilometres (3.7 miles) from downtown Auckland.
Coming from the Southern, Northern, or Western motorway, take the Port exit and follow the road until reaching a T-intersection (ports of Auckland will be directly in front). Turn right onto Tamaki Drive. Kelly Tarlton's is located on the right-hand side of the road (10 minute drive)

Getting to Kelly Tarlton's
Free Shuttle Service
The regular Shuttle Service is as follows...
- 7 days a week Kelly Tarlton's operates a FREE shuttle service from downtown Auckland!
- Shuttle departs from 152 Quay Street (opposite the Cloud).
- The shuttle runs hourly on the HALF hour from 9:30am until 3:30pm, with the final pick up from downtown being at 3:30pm.
Please note: after the 3:30pm pick up there are no return drop offs - however there is a public bus stop close by, please see below. Shuttle service may be subject to change depending on traffic and circumstances.
Free car parking is available in the Kelly Tarlton's car park, and on Tamaki Drive, subject to availability.
Public buses depart from Britomart Transport Centre every 15mins, 7 days a week. Bus Stop 1323 - Customs Street by the Postshop. Allow 20-25 minutes. Bus prices are from $4.50 per adult (subject to change).
Auckland Explorer Bus
Departs from the Ferry building (City Bus stop # 1).
Drop-off is at the entrance and free parking on the waterfront. Kelly Tarlton's offers all drivers a free admission on the day their passengers visit (driver ID must be shown).
If you are visiting with a school for a self guided visits, please ask the bus driver to drop you at the bus stop by Hammerheads and enter the aqarium via the front entrance.
If you are visiting with a school for a lesson with the Kelly Tarlton's education department, please ask the bus driver to drop you at the bus stop by Okahu (across the road from the aquarium) and meet your Kelly Tarlton's education staff member at the glass doors by the entrance to Okahu.
If you are visiting with a school for a sleepover and arriving at 7pm, the bus can park in the carpark. Entrance for a sleepover is via the exit building.
