Kelly Tarltons Octographer

A world first that has taken place right here at Kelly Tarlton's.

 

For some months, the curatorial team have been working with Mark Vette, a renowned animal behaviour expert, on an enrichment project which has resulted in the octopus learning how to take a photo using a Sony underwater camera.

 

This project was the brainchild of FCB, one of the world's largest advertising agencies - Sony is their client and the official title is #Octographer.

 

The star octopus is named Rambo (due to the fact she destroyed two cameras while training) and is located in the Fish Gallery zone.

 

This project was done as an enrichment activity for the octopus  - they are super intelligent and this is putting her nine brains to good use!
