Shark Survival

Are you ready to take the plunge with the feared legends of the deep?
For those seeking the ultimate thrill, join our qualified divers on a Shark Survival adventure to see life through a shark’s eye. This cage-free dive in the predator tank will see you up close and personal with Broadnose Sevengill, School and Wobbegong sharks as well as giant long-tailed stingray and other fish from New Zealand’s coastal waters.

The experience takes approximately 2 hours, 30 of which are spent diving in the shark tank. Prior to embarking on this thrilling adventure, participants will get a behind the scenes peak at Kelly Tarlton’s before being briefed and suited up.
This adventure is designed for certified divers aged 18 years+.
Some medical conditions will prohibit participation. Please read the terms and conditions and check criteria for participation before booking. No refunds will be given if you arrive for your animal advventure and do not meet the criteria.
What to bring:
Participants are supplied with a wetsuit and SCUBA diver equipment which must be worn for the duration of the programme.
Please bring swimwear for under your wetsuit, a towel and closed in footwear (no jandals or sandals are permitted ‘behind the scenes’). Shower facilities are available.
Once your diving ability is assessed by an instructor, you may be allowed to bring underwater cameras into the tank.
Session Times:
Our Shark Survival adventures run at 12pm daily except Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes before your Animal Adventure begins.
Cost: $155 per person

CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION - Participants must be aged 18yrs+ to be able to participate
- Participants must be certified divers and are required to bring their dive certificate on the day
- All participants must complete and sign both the Kelly Tarlton’s Animal Adventure Terms and Conditions which includes a Statement of Understanding and Assumption of Risk Agreement and the Medical Declaration. If applicable, a doctor’s medical clearance must be displayed to the adventure guide
- Participants must follow instructions given by the guide
- If you are pregnant you will not be allowed to participate in this Animal Adventure
- Participants with asthma or any medical conditions listed on the Medical Declaration form must have a Doctors medical clearance to dive
- Participants must be able to quickly exit the pool area unassisted
- Participants must be competent swimmers/ able to swim unaided
- Participants must have controlled motor movement
- Participants are not to travel in an aircraft or international flight for 24 hours from the completion of the dive
- Maximum six people per session
